Yamaha CP-80 Key Caps

Postby Stormy on Tue Apr 28, 2009 9:19 am

I have a Yamaha CP-80 electric piano, and I have been looking for ways of repairing some damage to the key caps (cigarette burns and chips). Your Key Cap Restoration Kit looks like it might work, but the note about pre-1974 Rhodes pianos being incompatible has led me to wonder if there might be any reasons why it wouldn't.

Do you know if anyone has successfully used your kit on a Yamaha CP-80 or CP-70 piano? And why won't it work on a pre-1974 Rhodes?

Many thanks for any information you can provide. I'm really looking forward to restoring a Rhodes for my next project, using your parts and wonderful tech tip videos.
