Fixing bad notes on Fender Rhodes

Postby lorenstillman on Sat Jan 22, 2011 2:18 pm

Hi All,

I recently replaced the hammer heads and damper felts on my suitcase Rhodes. I've adjusted the tone bars, tines and pickups as well as fixing some sticky key issues. There are still a few notes that don't ring and when hit hard create a more percussive sound then a resonant one. I have labored over these few notes, and just can't figure out what to do next. Im pretty sure the tines are in good shape as well as the hammer head, felts and pickup. Any advice would be greatly received, as I am a saxophonist trying to fix my own Rhodes. Pardon the lack of terminology!
